I have been around the insurance business a very long time. My father was a successful insurance agent and major influence on my career choice. From a very young age, I would listen to him talk to customers on the phone helping them with their insurance needs. I would even take messages for him while he was away from his desk. So, it was no surprise that, after I graduated Gettysburg College in 1987 with a Business Management Degree, I decided to become an insurance agent just like my father. After gaining experience and learning all aspects of the insurance business , I opened my own insurance agency in Norwood, N.J. My team and I honorably served the needs of our community for over twenty years. After selling my agency in 2020, I decided to look for new opportunities. I chose to become a State Farm Agent because I know that State Farm always puts their customers first and offers an array of insurance products that will protect them from the unexpected. I am married to Mary Purcell for over twenty-seven years. We have a son, Justin, and a daughter, Melissa. I am also a lifelong martial artist with black belts in Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jujitsu. I still teach and train regularly at Renzo Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy. Mary feels like she has returned to her roots here in Suffern, N.Y., she was born in Good Samaritan hospital right down the street. Mary obtained her Property and Casualty licenses for N.Y. and N.J. after moving to the Catskill mountains, moving to New York City, earning a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Columbia University, raising two children in RiverVale, N.J., and working for over twenty years as an insurance office manager. When not in office, you can find Mary on a beach or at a concert (80's bands are her favorite).
